Zhong Shan Meets with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko

　　On April 15, in Beijing, Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan met with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko who comes to attend the 5th high-level economic dialogue between China and Japan.

　　商务部部长钟山4月15日在京会见来华出席第五次中日经济高层对话的日本经济产业大臣世耕弘成。

　　Zhong Shan said that after President Xi Jinping’ meeting with Prime Minister Abe many times in 2018, and the exchanging of visits between Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Abe, China-Japan relations have returned to the normal track and achieved new development. This year is an important year for the development of China-Japan relations. China and Japan are both major economies in the world and important countries in Asia. Strengthening cooperation between China and Japan is not only conducive to the development of the two countries, but also to the prosperity and stability of the Asia-Pacific and even the whole world. The two sides should implement the important consensuses reached by the leaders of the two countries, expand mutually beneficial and pragmatic cooperation, and promote the deepening and practical development of China-Japan economic and trade relations.

　　钟山表示，2018年习近平主席同安倍首相多次会晤，李克强总理与安倍首相实现互访，中日关系重回正轨并取得新的发展。今年是中日关系发展的重要一年，中日同为世界主要经济体和亚洲重要国家，中日加强合作不仅有利于两国发展，也有利于亚太乃至世界繁荣稳定。双方应落实好两国领导人达成的重要共识，扩大互利务实合作，推动中日经贸关系不断走深走实。

　　Zhong Shan made four suggestions on deepening China-Japan economic and trade cooperation. First, actively promote the cooperation between China and Japan in the third-party market, and further implement the projects signed at the first forum; second, promote the development of the WTO in a direction that is beneficial to both China and Japan and all the members; third, achieve the goal of concluding the RCEP negotiations within the year as early as possible; fourth, Japan is welcome to actively participate in the 2nd China International Import Expo.

　　钟山就深化中日经贸合作提出四点建议。一是积极推进中日第三方市场合作，进一步落实首届论坛签约项目；二是推动世贸组织改革朝着对中日双方和广大成员都有利的方向发展；三是尽早实现年内结束RCEP谈判的目标；四是欢迎日方积极参与第二届中国国际进口博览会。

　　Hiroshige Seko said that Japan attaches great importance to the development of Japan-China economic and trade relations. This year, the Japan will host the G20 summit and is willing to work with China to achieve more consensuses. Both sides should strengthen coordination, pragmatically promote the third-party market cooperation, jointly advance the WTO reform process, and promote the conclusion of the RCEP negotiations within the year.

　　世耕弘成表示，日方高度重视发展日中经贸关系。今年日方将主办二十国集团峰会，愿与中方共同努力，推动形成更多共识成果。双方应加强协调，务实推进第三方市场合作，共同推进世贸组织改革进程，推动年内结束RCEP谈判。
